Genre 1 - Flyer
I decided on a flyer for my first genre because flyers for college are typically aimed to get a student's attention and that was my exact intention. Flyers are appealing to the eyes and they draw you in and make you want to read more. They are so concise and you can get your point across very easily. My flyer was based on drinking in college and the consequences you may face if you disobey these rules. Bloomsburg University is a dry campus anyway so no drinking is allowed even for students of age. I also included a program in which you can enroll in if you think you have a drinking problem. For my CRAP principles I use contrast of colors of red black and white because I think they go well together and draw you in. For repetition I would probably have to say the colors again because I used them pretty well in the flyer. Alignment is very important on a flyer and I made sure to have everything precisely in a certain manner. Proximity, I made sure to space everything enough so that you can read it well and everything wasn't jumbled.

Example 1

I chose this flyer first because it's so to the point and it's really creative. I love how the BU part is painted with a bunch of different colors because to "B the best U at BU" means for you to create yourself here. The alignment isn't the best because for the Facebook link and the part where it says "RESPECT Your On and Off Campus Community!", it just seems as if it was scattered and thrown in there and doesn't really along.I do like the dark color against the white and I used that contrast to portray in my own flyer.
Example 2

I chose this flyer because it has a lot going on and I noticed right off the bat a few things I did and didn't like about this flyer. What I did like about the flyer was the title "Show Us YOUR TALENT" because it's really appealing and goes with its topic by incorporating the red and yellow in, in which you'd normally use those colors for stage shows or events like that. I also like the people in black on each side of the title with the microphone in the middle because again it goes with its theme. What I didn't like about this flyer was the green box at the bottom because it just seems to throw it off by adding that color. They could've stuck with a color by using repetition of red or yellow instead of green. The alignment for the top half of the flyer is done very well, especially in the black box where the 3 categories are listed.

This flyer is definitely something everyone would stop and read because of the big font. I like the font style because it goes along with what they're trying to say here. The colors go well together and that's why I picked them for my own flyer. The faces on each side of the 3 words fit also because they're emotions of the words which is different and I like that. Otherwise, I don't really like this flyer because it just seems very unprofessional and sloppy.

Genre 2 - Letter
I chose a letter as my second genre because I think when you're trying to get your point across to a parent/guardian, a professional letter is the way to go. For my letter I included the consequences listed on my flyer above. Drinking is something that is always going to occur at colleges and everyone is aware of that but parents should definitely be informed anyway.because they might not know exactly what might come out of it if there child is caught drinking. I provided my contact information, along with my address in case the parent/guardian had any questions, which is very possible. I also included the Bloomsburg University logo so they know where I'm coming from. I used the CRAP principles by just keeping the letter with black font which is the professional thing to do. I aligned the letter to the left except for where I placed bullets for each consequence. Again, everything is in close enough proximity and not spaced too much so that it doesn't look scattered and I used repetition by keeping everything in basically one alignment.

Example 1
letter1.jpg
I really like how the logo is added at the top of this letter and I added Bloomsburg University's logo at the top of mine as well. The information is all put in a short paragraph style and very concise which I also like.

Example 2
letter2.jpg
I really like the soft colors in the background of this letter because it just adds a little va-voom. I also like the fancy-type font style and how they added the title there at the top. It seems as if it's just too much information for one letter though.
Example 3
letter3.jpg
This letter seems just perfect and really professional. Everything is listed just as it should be for the contact information and the information within the letter as well. Once again, a logo is added at the top which is definitely one of the most important aspects of a professional letter.

Genre 3 - Satire
I chose to use my satire as the third genre because I thought I did very well on it. My audience for this genre was students. I used threw different columns to separate the settings of my cartoon. I wanted to be very short and sweet about the point I was trying to get through about college drinking and I believe I was. A lot of students who drink at college do it because of peer pressure and so they think they look cool doing it. How I incorporated the CRAP principles, I just used the colors of the settings which didn't exactly create contrast but you could tell what was going on. I spaced everything out enough so that it wasn't clustered and still a good picture to look at.

Example 1
satire1.jpg
I really like this satire because it's really funny. The picture is dead on with the though coming from the man inside and it's very easy to understand. I don't want to have too many words for my cartoon just like this picture because I think that takes away the effect of the satire.
Example 2
satire2.jpg
I like how this satire is separated in the middle and shows the same exact setting and person just 80+ years difference. It's funny how they had no color for the picture from 1929 and how they added color for today's picture. I like the joke about selling organic apples for $0.05 today because it's really true and they got their point across in this satire very thoroughly. I definitely want to separate my satire into difference scenes just like this one.

Example 3
satire3.jpg
This satire definitely was my least favorite but it's still pretty funny. I'm not much of a politician at all but to be an American you have to know some what about your government. It's really true how people will do anything for money, especially if the government tells them to. The black and white adds contract but I don't really like the font and how they spelled cause as "cuz". I probably won't use anything from this satire but it was still a good example!
